How to sell crystals online: a practical guide

Good crystal listings reduce uncertainty
A collector cannot hold the piece before buying it. Strong listings replace that missing in-person inspection with accurate photos, measurements, condition notes, careful packaging, and clear answers. That helps the right buyer make a decision without overstating what the seller knows.

Choose pieces you are genuinely ready to release
Start with a manageable group from your collection. Check each piece for chips, repairs, loose stands, missing accessories, or other condition details before you photograph or price it.

Describe the mineral and form accurately
Use the mineral or variety you reasonably know, followed by the form: tower, carving, sphere, cluster, palm stone, jewelry, slab, freeform, or specimen. When an origin, treatment, or trade name is uncertain, say what you know instead of guessing.

Photograph the exact item in useful light
Take a clear cover photo, a hand or ruler scale photo, close details, the base and sides, and a direct photo of every flaw. Natural indirect light usually shows color and texture more clearly than strong filters or colored bulbs.

Write a title a collector can understand quickly
Lead with the stone and form, then add one factual distinguishing detail when useful. Keep measurements, weight, condition, treatment disclosures, what is included, and known origin in the description rather than repeating promotional phrases.

Set the item price and shipping separately
Price the exact piece based on its condition, size, quality, and what comparable pieces actually sell for. Weigh the packed item, not only the crystal, so the shipping amount covers protective material and the real package weight.

Pack for movement, pressure, and edges
Wrap points, corners, and delicate attachments individually. Prevent the piece from moving inside the box, use a strong outer carton, and follow the carrier’s rules for weight, labels, and restricted materials.

Respond clearly and share the listing where collectors already know you
