This is a selenite crystal intergrown with goethite from the Inglaterra Mine in Mexico, recovered from a pocket opened in late 2025.
The contrast on these specimens is what makes them so striking. Clear, icy selenite is naturally intergrown with dark goethite, creating a dramatic combination of light and dark. Depending on the area of the specimen, the goethite ranges from rich brown to deep black and may display either a soft, velvety texture or a delicate micro-druzy coating.
This specimen features a well-defined selenite termination, and the crystal is beautifully intergrown into the surrounding goethite, giving it a natural, sculptural appearance rather than looking like a crystal simply resting on the matrix.
It comes housed in a 2×2 acrylic display block.
